Is There A Rising Crime Rate in Norway?

I took a close look at the bar graphs on 15 pages and the data

is surprising. By the appearance of this data, I predict an

influx of Norwegian-American citizens moving BACK to

Norway.

Crime in the United States is either rising OR staying at

an incredibly high level of crime. Rate of homicide per

100,000 people in the United States in the last 5 years

ranges from 5-7 per year per 100,000 people. In Norway, in

the year 2000, the rate was 1 person per year per 100,000

people and that rate has dropped to .75 of a person per year

per 100,000 people.

Keep in mind that each family in the United States has

approximately 2.15 children. There is no humor in it, but it

DOES sound odd. That’s all there is to it.

A closer look revealed that this bar graph solely relates to

homicides. Well, my life is very important to me and so

this information did have an impact on my feelings on a

variety of levels and regarding a variety of topics.

I looked at crime rates overall, and then I became alarmed.

Denmark, Finland, United Kingdom, France, the Netherlands,

and Norway received a place in the top 15 countries with

the most crime per capita per year per 100,000 people.

It does appear that there are high levels of crime overall in

Western European Countries. Norway, Sweden, Denmark,

Finland, Great Britain, and Iceland had relatively high rates of

crime overall meaning that they were in the top 15 countries

with the highest crime rates per capita per year in a group of

100,000 people.
