I Just Don’t Get It
In discussing the loss of a friend with
some youthful friends,
I decided that they just don’t get it.
Life hurts.
Some youthful souls have a sort of insulation from some of
life’s most hurtful experiences.
As we mature, we open ourselves up to all
sorts of winnings and losings.
That’s Life.
There are different ways of coping.
Some people give FAITH a try.
Some don’t.
I understand.
Doubt is the ants in the pants of faith.
Maybe you just don’t get it and you just don’t care.
O.K.
Sometimes, I run out of answers.
Maybe you are part of a different kind of religion or
no religion.
O.K.
Somebody cares.
I accept that not everybody believes in a HIGHER POWER.
It’s a personal choice.
It is a choice that can not be FORCED upon someone.
The journey from ‘I just don’t get it’ to an ‘ah-hah! moment’
is a long and winding road.
I am not so sure that it is an easy one.
Even if it were easy, some days aren’t much fun.
It is on these lonely, boring, dark, dreary days, when
the sun is NOT shining that we can BELIEVE that
the sun will come out tomorrow. That is FAITH.
It is standing in the rain, soaking wet, splattered with
mud and believing that you will see the SUN again.
Hope is seeing the way you want the world to be when
it is NOT the way you want the world to be- and
going for it.
It is to SEE what isn’t there- right now.
Sounds pretty weird to me.
But, it works.
