The Land of Shoe and Mitten

There is a place for shoes and mittens that don’t have a place at home

There is a place within my heart where they are quite well known

We are taught that things come in pairs

Mom and Dad

Salt and Pepper

Hot and Cold

But, don’t despair

Set the extra shoe or mitten upon a pretty table

And wait, and wait, until the other one comes back if able

And, while you’re thinking about that glove or shoe

Pray for the children who have one and wish there were two
